Jillian & Aidan

It all begins on a rainy spring day. The rain is pouring, the skies are dark and grey. What was supposed to be a beautiful & sunny spring wedding day has turned into a dark, gloomy, & wet wedding day. When I arrived at Jillian’s parent’s house to begin documenting the day, there was this sense of disappointment & questionability of whether the day will go as planned or if they will have to make it up as they go.
When I was greeted by Aidan, he had the calming and optimistic aura. He only cared about making the day special for Jillian and that’s all that mattered, marrying his bride and making sure that she’s happy.
While the rain was on and off for hours and the beautiful outdoor decorations were covered in rain and mud, there was this sense of unity going on inside the home. Everyone working together to make the day as beautiful and special as possible. Warm greetings and some of the most special moments between family and friends. The day would prevail.
When it was time for the ceremony that they had pushed back an hour, the rain was gone and the mud had began to dry. Guests gathered in their seats, while we all awaited the beautiful bride. The couple included their sweet pup in their special day and they were walked down the aisle with the best man. Then, came the bride. Beautiful and glowing. Quickly trying to capture the reaction of the groom, I could tell that he was already in tears before even seeing her. The energy radiating between the two, so magnetic. A pull towards each other, pure romance and love for each other. A reminder of why I love being a wedding photographer.
After the ceremony came eating, dancing, and celebrating the two. A beautiful first dance between the couple. They danced to one of my favorite Hozier songs. They have great taste in music btw. They did a private cake cutting with a homemade cake, made by Jillian. They let me have a slice and it was absolutely amazing.

We finished the night with a beautiful send off in their car that was decorated before the rain came and washed some of it off, but nevertheless was such a fun way to wish the couple the best and send them off.
Jillian & Aidan opted for a post wedding session so we can take some portraits of them in a more intimate setting. An option I love seeing more and more couples take!
